Thick brioche soaked in a vanilla-cinnamon custard and cooked until golden. The kind of French toast that makes a lazy Saturday morning feel like a celebration.

Ingredients

·4 thick slices brioche or challah
·3 eggs
·1/2 cup whole milk
·2 tbsp heavy cream
·1 tbsp sugar
·1 tsp vanilla extract
·1/2 tsp cinnamon
·Pinch of nutmeg
·Butter for cooking
·Powdered sugar and maple syrup to serve

Instructions

1.Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg together.
2.Soak bread slices for 30 seconds per side.
3.Cook in butter over medium heat until deep golden on both sides.
4.Dust with powdered sugar and serve with warm maple syrup.
