·1 lb cremini mushrooms sliced
·1 onion sliced into rings for topping
·4 tbsp butter
·3 tbsp flour
·2 cups whole milk
·1 cup chicken broth
·Buttermilk and flour for onion coating
·Salt, pepper, nutmeg
1.Make crispy onions: soak rings in buttermilk, coat in seasoned flour, fry until golden.
2.Make mushroom sauce: sauté mushrooms, add flour, then milk and broth.
3.Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
4.Combine sauce with green beans in a baking dish.
5.Top with crispy onions.
6.Bake at 375°F for 25 minutes until bubbling.
