·1 lb Italian sausages (mild, sweet, or hot if you like spice)
·2 bell peppers, sliced
·1 onion, sliced
·1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
·1 tsp garlic powder
·Salt and pepper
1.Place sausages, peppers, and onions in the slow cooker. Salt & pepper.
2.Pour the marinara sauce and garlic powder over the top.
3.Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
4.Serve the sausages whole or sliced, topped with the cooked peppers and plenty of sauce.
1.Preheat your oven to 400°F and lightly grease a large rimmed sheet pan.
2.Place the sliced peppers and onions on the pan. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat and spread them out in an even layer.
3.Use a knife to poke 2-3 small holes in each sausage link (this prevents them from bursting) and nestle them in among the vegetables.
4.Roast for 25-30 minutes, tossing the vegetables and flipping the sausages halfway through, until the sausages are browned and the vegetables are tender and charred at the edges.
5.Serve on hoagie rolls with a drizzle of warmed marinara sauce or over a bed of creamy polenta or al dente pasta.
